images-3After a week off, here is the latest 5 for Leadership. This week we are taking a look at entitled leadership, selfish leadership, papal leadership, improving leadership and leadership from the heart. I hope you find something of benefit for you.

4 Important Reasons to Guard Your Heart This come from Michael Warden, whom I follow on Twitter. One of Michael’s roles is to serve as a leadership coach. Here is how he positions this post: ” . . . one thing about my focus as a coach remains consistently true. I am unapologetically after my client’s heart.” See why!

10 Things You Can Do Today To Improve As A Leader  This is from Ron Edmonson. This is a succinct and timely list for every leader to consider–and it comes from a good leader. So take some time and pay attention.

The Francis Effect  Unless you have been living under a rock this past week, you know that Pope Francis is in Brazil making headlines. Wally Bock provides us with some great application from what the WSJ termed “the Francis effect.” Take a look at his three points of application.

The Impact of Entitled Leadership  ” . . . entitlement begins where gratitude ends. When you cease to be grateful for what is, you feel justified in having a sense of entitlement for what isn’t.” Have I got your attention? This post comes from The Leadership Advisor blog. The author begins by breaking down the normal stereotype of the Millennial generation and proceeds to give us all four principles to avoid entitled leadership.

Selfish Leaders–Are You One?  This final post comes from a new blogger for me, Calvin Guyer. Listen to Calvin’s introduction, “The world is full of selfish leaders who prey upon the goodwill of their employees. The question is…years later, are you now one of them?” This serves as a good self awareness test. Calvin gives us 10 ways to spot a selfish leader–even if it is us.

There are the 5 for this week. Sorry I missed a week. My family and I were on vacation in New Mexico and we enjoyed some great time together. Be sure you too are taking necessary breaks and vacations with your family or friends. We all need it! Lead well!
